YapClean is a Windows desktop utility that transcribes speech, applies a chosen formatting profile and inserts the result into the active application.
The problem
Raw dictation still leaves editing work.
Speech-to-text can capture words, but punctuation, structure, specialist vocabulary and the right tone still depend on context. YapClean adds a controlled formatting step before placing text at the cursor.
This is also the origin of the name: say it, then clean it.
Dictate into any active window
Use a hotkey, speak and place the processed text where you are already working.
Choose a working persona
Profiles cover general writing, development, management, support, HR, teaching and other contexts.
Switch by application
App-aware rules can select a profile for tools such as VS Code, a terminal, Word or a browser.
Keep provider choice
The project supports several speech and language-model providers, including local options.
Honest status
A working engineering project, not a finished mass-market promise.
The public repository includes setup, Windows build instructions and automated tests. Windows 10/11 is the current target; macOS and Linux support are described as work in progress.
We are publishing the build openly because real products demonstrate how YapClean Solutions approaches software: start with a repeated problem, build a usable system, document it and keep claims verifiable.
